{"id":367500,"date":"2024-05-29T17:07:48","date_gmt":"2024-05-29T20:07:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/?p=367500"},"modified":"2024-05-29T17:09:26","modified_gmt":"2024-05-29T20:09:26","slug":"kuwaits-refining-capacity-a-record-at-1-8-mn-bpd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/kuwaits-refining-capacity-a-record-at-1-8-mn-bpd\/","title":{"rendered":"Kuwait\u2019s refining capacity a record at 1.8 mn bpd"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Kuwait said Wednesday (29) its refining capacity had reached a record 1.8 million barrels per day as it officially inaugurated the huge Al-Zour refinery which started operating at full capacity in recent months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The output of the <a href=\"https:\/\/kipic.com.kw\/al-zour-refinery\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">refinery<\/a>, one of the Middle East\u2019s biggest, reached full capacity of 615,000 bpd. \u201cWe have succeeded in reaching an unprecedented refining capacity of 1.83 million bpd both domestically and abroad,\u201d Oil Minister Emad Mohammed al-Atiqi said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Refining capacity doubled<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe refining capacity of domestic refineries amounts to 1.415 million bpd,\u201d more than double the 2021 capacity of 600,000 bpd, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>OPEC member Kuwait aims to reach a production capacity of 4 million bpd by 2035. Kuwait operates three refineries at home and three abroad <em>\u2013<\/em> in Oman, Vietnam, and Italy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Al-Zour refinery lies 90 kilometers (55 miles) south of Kuwait City. Kuwait awarded contracts to build the USD 13.2 billion refinery in 2015.
