According to figures from its Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services, year to date through April the Latin American country exported 10,000 tonnes of frozen fowls of the species Gallus domesticus, not cut in pieces, for USD 16.3 million<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Read more:<\/em><br><em><a href=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/brazil-could-start-poultry-exports-to-algeria-in-2024\/\">Brazil could start poultry exports to Algeria in 2024<\/a><\/em><br><a href=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/algerian-market-opens-up-to-brazilian-halal-chicken\/\"><em>Algerian market opens up to Brazilian halal chicken<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Luis Rua, market director at national industry lobby <a href=\"https:\/\/abpa-br.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ABPA<\/a>, easing of rules adopted in the Algerian market allowed exports of the product to the country, which in turn could have in the South American giant a relevant partner in ensuring food security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAlgeria\u2019s market officially opened to Brazil in October 2023. The first exports to the country took place in 2024. Since then, from January through April 2024, over 10,000 tonnes were exported, which is proof of the Latin American country&#8217;s power and the opportunities that may come from that market,\u201d said Rua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSince then, Algeria has also relaxed some rules allowing Brazil to achieve a higher competitiveness in its exports to Algeria, which has a huge potential, and this partnership is likely to continue supporting its food security,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the ministry\u2019s data through April, poultry already stands in seventh place in the ranking of top exports to Algeria, after sugar, soybean, beef, maize, agglomerated iron ores, and non-agglomerated iron ores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Brazilian m<strong>issions to Algeria<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In October of last year and this year\u2019s May, trade missions to the Arab country were held to promote the product. The <strong>Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce<\/strong> (ABCC) was part of the delegation that went to Algeria in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In May, ABPA and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion (ApexBrasil) were in Algiers with businesspeople.
