The United Arab Emirates was the second leading destination of Brazilian poultry exports, followed by Saudi Arabia in third, and Iraq in sixth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>China was the top importer. The UAE bought 39,600 tonnes, a jump of 22.2% compared to May 2023, while Saudi Arabia imported 37,500 tonnes, up 31.2% from 2023, and Iraq 24,000 tonnes, up 35.5%. In fourth came Japan, and in fifth South Africa. ABPA highlighted the share of other Arab markets in poultry purchases from Brazil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBrazil has strengthened its position as the world\u2019s top halal chicken meat supplier, with large increases in sales to the Middle East and North Africa countries such as Libya and recently unlocked Algeria. Other countries in Africa stand out, with a returning Brazilian presence in countries with potential for growth in the upcoming months,\u201d said ABPA market director in a press statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Beyond Arab markets<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Brazilian raw and processed chicken meat exports totaled 451,000 tonnes in May, up 4.2% compared to a year earlier. Revenue stood at USD 818.7 million, down 5.6% from May 2023.
