The reduction in the Get\u00falio Vargas Foundation (FGV) Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) in the period was 2.1%, from 125.1 points in November to 122.5 points this year.<\/p>\n<p> The result was influenced by the lower optimism regarding the future, as the Expectation Index dropped 3.4%, reaching 109.5 points, the lowest level since March 2010. The share of consumers who hope for improvement of the economic environment over the next six months dropped from 31.5% in November to 29.6% in December. Those who forecast a worsening grew from 11.9% to 15.6% in the period.<\/p>\n<p> Confidence in the current situation of the economy also dropped. The Current Situation Index fell from 147.4 to 146.8 points, or 0.4% down.
