{"id":368825,"date":"2024-06-18T17:00:50","date_gmt":"2024-06-18T20:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/?p=368825"},"modified":"2024-06-18T17:00:52","modified_gmt":"2024-06-18T20:00:52","slug":"tunis-mural-celebrates-invisible-talents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/tunis-mural-celebrates-invisible-talents\/","title":{"rendered":"Tunis: Mural celebrates \u2018invisible talents\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Tunis \u2013 In the old medina of Tunis, the old town of the Tunisian capital, a wall installation titled \u201c1001 Bricks\u201d showcases the talents of \u201cinvisible\u201d creators, including art students, people with disabilities and school dropouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Led by Swiss artist <a href=\"https:\/\/annefrancey.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Anne Francey<\/a><a><\/a> the project took shape over a year through workshops that culminated in a large bas-relief made of carved and painted clay bricks, reimagining the cityscape.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"390\" height=\"459\" src=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/tunisia-1001-bricks.jpg\" alt=\"Wall installation in the old town\" class=\"wp-image-368819\" style=\"width:243px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/tunisia-1001-bricks.jpg 390w, https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/tunisia-1001-bricks-127x150.jpg 127w, https:\/\/anba.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/tunisia-1001-bricks-150x177.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 390px) 100vw, 390px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Wall installation in the old town<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The massive artwork now graces a square in the UNESCO-listed old town of the Tunisian capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its main creators are \u201cthe invisible, all these people who are on the margins of society, who have disabilities\u201d and whom \u201cwe tend to keep in the shadows and not really acknowledge\u201d, said Francey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite challenges, the project engaged a wide spectrum of 550 participants including art professionals, students and members of AGIM, an association for people with motor disorders.
