{"id":369160,"date":"2024-06-25T11:21:29","date_gmt":"2024-06-25T14:21:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/?p=369160"},"modified":"2024-06-25T11:21:32","modified_gmt":"2024-06-25T14:21:32","slug":"brazils-sabesp-to-offer-shares-to-foreigners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/brazils-sabesp-to-offer-shares-to-foreigners\/","title":{"rendered":"Brazil\u2019s Sabesp to offer shares to foreigners"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 S\u00e3o Paulo state governor Tarc\u00edsio de Freitas started Monday (24) in the United States a series of meetings with representatives from private companies and investment funds to present the model of public offering of stocks of local water utility <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sabesp.com.br\/site\/Default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sabesp<\/a> that kicked off last Friday (21).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The delegation accompanying the governor consists of Rafael Benini, secretary of partnerships and investments, Nat\u00e1lia Resende, of environment, infrastructure and logistics, and Lais Vita, of communications, and will have appointments in New York and Boston .The group will then move on to the United Kingdom and Portugal in search of interest buyers for the company\u2019s shares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stock offering<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The S\u00e3o Paulo state government kicked off last Friday the share offering as part of the last stage of the privatization of the water and sewage company. Earlier this month, the state government announced it will retain 18.3% of the company\u2019s stocks. The state currently owns 50.3%, with the rest in possession of companies and individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the government, the stock sales will be divided into two lots \u2013 the first, of 15% of the shares, will be targeted at a benchmark investor, while the second, at 17%, will be open for the market, including individuals, firms, and company employees.
