{"id":369425,"date":"2024-06-27T16:16:40","date_gmt":"2024-06-27T19:16:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/?p=369425"},"modified":"2024-06-27T16:16:42","modified_gmt":"2024-06-27T19:16:42","slug":"brazils-central-bank-forecasts-growth-at-2-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/brazils-central-bank-forecasts-growth-at-2-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Brazil\u2019s central bank forecasts growth at 2.3%"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 In its quarterly inflation report made public on Thursday (27), Brazil\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bcb.gov.br\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">central bank<\/a> bumped its 2024 gross domestic product growth forecast to 2.3% from the previous 1.9% prediction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the central bank, the economic performance and labor market are more robust than expected, thus contributing to a drop in unemployment and rising wages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although May\u2019s historic floods in Brazil\u2019s southernmost state of Rio Grande do Sul have caused a significant economic downturn in the region, signs of recovery are already visible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the first quarter, the Brazilian GDP grew at 2.5% from the same period last year and 0.8% from the previous quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">C<strong>entral bank points to inflation increase<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Global landscape, the central bank says, remains adverse and requires caution from emerging countries.
