{"id":369630,"date":"2024-07-01T16:12:42","date_gmt":"2024-07-01T19:12:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/?p=369630"},"modified":"2024-07-01T16:12:45","modified_gmt":"2024-07-01T19:12:45","slug":"imf-provides-jordan-access-to-130-million","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/imf-provides-jordan-access-to-130-million\/","title":{"rendered":"IMF provides Jordan access to $130 million"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The International Monetary Fund (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imf.org\/en\/Home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IMF<\/a>) announced on Monday (1) from Washington, United States, that it made another USD 130 million available to Jordan, out of the previously approved program size of USD 1.2 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jordan\u2019s program is supported by the Extended Fund Facility (EFF), which provides financial assistance to countries facing serious medium-term balance of payments problems because of structural weaknesses that require time to address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">IMF projects <strong>growth at 2.4%<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cJordan\u2019s economy continues to show resilience, including in the face of the challenges posed by the Israel\u2013Gaza conflict and the disruptions to trade in the Red Sea. This reflects the strong progress that Jordan has made in recent years thanks to the steadfast implementation of sound macro-economic policies and structural reforms that have strengthened the country\u2019s resilience and enabled it to weather the impact of successive external shocks,\u201d the IMF said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDespite this strong performance,\u201d the statement goes on to say, \u201cchallenges remain.\u201d Unemployment remains high in the Arab country, and the unsettled regional situation weighs on its near-term outlook.
