That is equivalent to 104.68 devices per 100 inhabitants, with growth of 15.6% over 2009, said today (19) the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel), on disclosing updated figures regarding mobile telephony in Brazil. <\/p>\n<p> The number of mobiles in use is greater than the number of inhabitants in the country \u2013 190.73 million people, according to figures disclosed by the Brazilian Institute for Geography and Statistics (IBGE).<\/p>\n<p> In 2010, the number of new lines registered presented the highest growth of the last 11 years. In 2009, telephony companies reported 23,317,965 new lines registered. Last year, there were 28,984,665 new mobile phone lines registered in the country.<\/p>\n<p> According to the Anatel study, at the end of last year, there were 167,097,747 prepaid mobile phones, or 82.34% of the total, and 35,846,686 post-paid devices, 17.66% of the total.<\/p>\n<p> Anatel informed that in 15 Brazilian stated and the Federal District there is more than one mobile phone per inhabitant.
