S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The 31st edition of Vit\u00f3ria Stone Fair, the international ornamental stone fair, to take place from February 15th to 18th, in the city of Esp\u00edrito Santo, should include the participation of seven companies from Egypt. In total, the event should receive 410 exhibitors, of which 95 are international.<\/p>\n
The Egyptians have been participating in Vit\u00f3ria Stone Fair since 2006. The companies bring to Brazil several kinds of marbles and granites and many have already exported to the country. In this edition the fair should have the second largest number of Egyptian exhibitors.<\/p>\n
This year, the participants are Abdeen Group, Alex Tiles, Eckostone, Al Safwa, Global Stone, Iso Marble and Marmonil. Apart from Egypt, other international exhibitors come from Italy, Turkey, Portugal, China, India, Argentina, Spain, Greece, Pakistan and France, among others.<\/p>\n
The fair organizers hope to receive over 20,000 visitors from 60 countries. Last year, the fair received Arab buyers from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Lebanon.<\/p>\n
Brazilian exports<\/b><\/p>\n
Brazilian foreign sales of ornamental stones totalled US$ 959.1 million last year, which represented growth of 32.4% over 2009. Shipments totalled 2.24 million tonnes, according to figures disclosed by the Brazilian Centre for Exporters of Ornamental Stones (Centrorochas).<\/p>\n
The state of Esp\u00edrito Santo, where the Vit\u00f3ria Stone Fair takes place, is a global reference in marble and granite. The region is a leader in national production of stone and houses over 90% of investment in the ornamental stone industrial park. Exports from the state totalled US$ 683.5 million last year.<\/p>\n
