S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 In operation for only three months, Tunisia Tur plans to take, yet this year, 500 Brazilians to visit the Arab country, according to Slim Fsili, the new operator’s director.<\/p>\n
"Tunisia receives seven million tourists a year, but is still little known by Brazilians," he said. The businessman, who is Tunisian and has lived in S\u00e3o Paulo for four years, explains that the political unsettlement that resulted in the fall of former president Zine al Abidine Ben Ali helped promote the country in Brazil in a positive manner and added that tourists, specially Europeans, are already returning to Tunisia.<\/p>\n
Tunisia Tur should work mainly with travel agencies, but should also offer packages directly to interested tourists. Among the routes offered are excursions in the desert, honeymoon packages, train trips through canyons, gastronomic trips and even a wine route, for sampling the beverage.<\/p>\n
Camping in the desert, for example, takes place in 60 luxury tents, with air conditioning and private bathrooms in each. The site also has a pool, for refreshment in the Sahara. "They are unique experiences," said Fsili about the possible routes in Tunisia. Among these experiences, tourists may, for example, undergo a thalassotherapy massage, using sea water and algae, a dinner with a ball and a lunch with dromedary meat, among others.<\/p>\n
For women, the businessman pointed out shopping as one of the main attractions of the country. "There are several markets, handicraft is cheap in Tunisia, there are carpets and several typical products," pointed out Fsili.<\/p>\n
He explained that to make Tunisia Tur known in the Brazilian tourism sector, the company is preparing events turned to travel agencies and also to the press. "We have partnerships with the embassy of Tunisia to promote some events, like a folk dinner, to show a little of the culture and gastronomy of Tunisia," he said.<\/p>\n
The operator is also promoting what Fsili calls \u201ccaravans\u201d for prospection. According to the businessman, these caravans have already been promoted in Curitiba, Joinville, Blumenau and Florian\u00f3polis. "We are now going to promote one more caravan, with breakfasts; we are going to have meetings at agencies, offer support material, etc. We are going to promote caravans in Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro, Bras\u00edlia and Goi\u00e2nia," he said. Apart from the office in S\u00e3o Paulo, Tunisia Tur is also represented in Curitiba, Florian\u00f3polis and Rio de Janeiro.<\/p>\n
