S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Brazilian airports recorded 689,938 international arrivals in February. According to figures supplied by the Brazilian Airport Infrastructure Company (Infraero), the volume is an all-time high for the month. The number of international passenger arrivals in the second months of this year was 8.5% higher than in the same period of 2010. The figures include foreigners who entered Brazil and Brazilians who returned to the country.<\/p>\n
In the first two months of the year, 1,558,478 people arrived in Brazil from abroad, an increase of 11.82% compared with the first two months of 2010. The figure is an all-time high for the period.<\/p>\n
"The international promotion of Brazil has followed the guidelines of the strategic plan in a steady and constant manner, a work that we have been carrying out with much hard work and enthusiasm," said M\u00e1rio Moys\u00e9s, the president of Embratur, in a statement issued by the organization. <\/p>\n
To Moys\u00e9s, the coordinated work underway may contribute for arrivals to remain high. "The figures indicate that we are on the right track," he finishes off. In 2010, passenger arrivals from abroad had increased by 16% compared with 2009.<\/p>\n
