S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The national anthems of Brazil and the United Arab Emirates were played on traditional instruments from each country. The master of ceremonies and flag bearer performed, the room was decorated to evoke Brazil, and the waiters served the guests dressed as gauchos. These were some of the elements of a festival held on Thursday (5) in Abu Dhabi to celebrate Brazil\u2019s national day and the 50th<\/sup> anniversary of the relationship between Brazil and the UAE.<\/p>\n\n\n

Called Brazilian Day, the event took place at the Rixos Marina Abu Dhabi Hotel, which was also illuminated with the colors and flag of Brazil for the celebration, organized by the Brazilian Embassy in partnership with the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce<\/strong> (ABCC<\/a>). The UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, attended, attended the event, along with the Costa Rican Ambassador to the UAE, Francisco Chac\u00f3n Hern\u00e1ndez, and other officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the opening of the event, the Brazilian Ambassador to the UAE, Sidney Leon Romeiro, said the relationship between Brazil and the UAE is a success story. \u201cThe volume of activities on our agenda and the achievements over these 50 years are impressive,\u201d said Romeiro. In an interview, he mentioned that the Brazil-UAE relationship has been expanding rapidly, and a demonstration of this is the presence of Brazilians in the country. They were around 10,000 two years ago and are now between 13,000 and 14,000.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cThe national day is both a celebrative and a civic date. It\u2019s a day that brings together the Brazilian community abroad and also the locals who like Brazil. It\u2019s an opportunity for us to engage both the Brazilian community and those who like and value Brazil,\u201d said Romeiro, adding that it is a celebration of the Brazilian identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The head of the ABCC office in Dubai, Rafael Solimeo, emphasized the grandeur of the event and how it brought Brazil into the spotlight in the UAE. According to Solimeo, this type of action strengthens Brazil\u2019s image and reinforces the relationship between Brazil and the UAE across all spheres, including commerce. The two countries have an annual trade of over USD 4 billion and strong diplomatic relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Business support<\/strong> to the Brazilian Day<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Solimeo highlighted the support that companies provided to Brazilian Day. The event had Patria Investimentos as the Platinum sponsor, Vale and Minerva Foods as Golden sponsors, BRF and Embraer as Silver sponsors, and Tramontina, Fambras, COE Ceramics, and Just One Media as Bronze sponsors. The festival also received support from the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade, and Services of Brazil, and the Brazilian federal government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
