S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Arab Gulf state Qatar will host the first Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty Summit next year. The alliance was officially launched in November this year at the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, as an initiative of the Brazilian temporary presidency of group, following a proposal by President Luiz In\u00e1cio Lula da Silva.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The topic was discussed on Saturday (7) during a meeting between Brazil\u2019s minister of social development, family, and fight against hunger, Wellington Dias, and Mubarak Al Kuwari, executive director of the Permanent Committee for Organizing Conferences (PCOC) at Qatar\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Doha. They talked about the UN World Summit for Social Development, scheduled to take place from November 4 to 6, 2025, in the Arab country. The summit on hunger will be held alongside this event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOn the Global Alliance, we understand that this type of initiative is very important, and we\u2019re eager to participate. We want to work with Brazil to discuss various issues, especially hunger and poverty. We\u2019re impressed with Brazil\u2019s dedication to this topic. We\u2019ll work together and hold the first Global Alliance Summit here in Doha,\u201d said Al Kuwari, according to a statement released by the Brazilian ministry<\/a>. Dias recalled that the summit will take place exactly one year after the creation of the Alliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qatar’s Doha Forum 2024<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Minister Wellington Dias attended the 22nd<\/sup> edition of the Doha Forum in Qatar over the weekend. The central theme of the event was innovation as essential to addressing global challenges such as security, climate change, the economy, and the world order. Established in 2000, the forum is a global dialogue platform that brings together political leaders, policymakers, private sector representatives, civil society organizations, and NGOs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
