S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 World soccer\u2019s governing body FIFA confirmed in an online event on Wednesday (11) that Saudi Arabia will host the 2034 World Cup, and that Morocco will be one of the host countries for the 2030 event, alongside Portugal and Spain. In Saudi Arabia, the matches will be held in 15 stadiums across five cities\u2014capital Riyadh, as well as Al Khobar, Jeddah, Abha, and Neom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both the opening match and the final of the World Cup will be held at the King Salman Stadium in Riyadh. Neom is a city being built on the Red Sea coast with the aim of being entirely sustainable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both the 2030 and 2034 World Cup host cities were chosen without competitors, by acclamation, and announced at the FIFA <\/a>Extraordinary Congress by its president, Gianni Infantino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2030 World Cup will have matches in six Moroccan cities, nine Spanish cities, and two Portuguese cities. In honor of the centenary of the World Cup, Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay will each host one match of the tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
