S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 An artistic mural is currently being created on the external walls of the Lar S\u00edrio Pr\u00f3-Inf\u00e2ncia<\/a> headquarters in S\u00e3o Paulo, depicting Syrian immigration to Brazil and the transformation brought about by the institution for the families it serves. Founded by Syrian immigrants, the Lar S\u00edrio hosts children and adolescents in socio-educational projects focused on arts, culture, music, sports, computer science, civility, social interaction, professional development support, and other areas.<\/p>\n\n\n

The developing artwork aims to be a tourist landmark. According to information released by the Lar S\u00edrio, six renowned street artists are working on the project on Rua Cantagalo, covering over 700 square meters\u2014Agatha De Faveri, Apolo Torres, Atual Art, Clara Leff, Guilherme Asthma, and Pardal. The global hub for artistic innovation and creativity, Dionisio.AG, is leading the execution of the mural and is responsible for the curation of the artists, logistics, and executive production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to information from Lar S\u00edrio, each artist contributed their unique style to create a visual narrative that connects the past, present, and future of the institution. The artwork traces a timeline, from the history of the founders and the ships that brought the immigrants to Brazil, to the current moment of the institution, showcasing the various activities offered to children and youth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The children who attend the institution were also involved in the project and participated in two artistic activities led by artist Tch\u00e9 in partnership with Dionisio.AG. They learned more about art through an immersive tour of the city of S\u00e3o Paulo and then put their experience into practice by painting and drawing together on a large canvas using paint and spray.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lar S\u00edrio Pr\u00f3-Inf\u00e2ncia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Lar S\u00edrio was founded in 1923 and is dedicated to the protection and development of children and adolescents in situations of social vulnerability, and their families. \u201cThe mural we\u2019re creating at Lar S\u00edrio comes from an idea that first emerged over ten years ago, aiming to graffiti and create a tourist landmark in the city of S\u00e3o Paulo, in the Tatuap\u00e9 neighborhood, thus strengthening our desire to establish a Cultural Center in our surroundings. The project also celebrates the 102 years of existence of Lar S\u00edrio, which we\u2019ll complete in 2025,\u201d the president of Lar S\u00edrio Pr\u00f3-Inf\u00e2ncia, Sergio Stephano Chohfi Filho, was quoted as saying in a press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mural will be inaugurated on February 22, starting at 12 PM, at an event open to the public with artistic performances. The artwork is located between Rua Apucarana and Rua Itapura on Rua Cantagalo in Tatuap\u00e9, in the East Zone of S\u00e3o Paulo. Lar S\u00edrio Pr\u00f3-Inf\u00e2ncia is a non-profit civil society organization that primarily serves the population of the far East region of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
