S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Brazil\u2019s Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, met with his Qatari counterpart, Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, on Sunday (16) evening in Saudi Arabia. Both were attending the AlUla Conference on Emerging Market Economies, held in AlUla by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the host country\u2019s Ministry of Finance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to information shared on Qatar\u2019s Ministry of Finance social media, Haddad and Al Kuwari discussed topics of mutual interest, particularly in economy and finance, and explored ways to strengthen cooperation efforts. Like Haddad, Al Kuwari held a series of side meetings during the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Qatari state news agency QNA<\/a> reported that Al Kuwari participated in a round-table session on Middle Eastern economic recovery and post-conflict reconstruction. The session focused on ways to enhance cooperation between countries and international organizations to support reconstruction and recovery efforts in the Middle East, particularly following the crises and conflicts experienced by some countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The AlUla conference brought together a select group of guests. Brazil and Qatar, two of the participants, share strong economic ties. In 2024, Brazil exported USD 452.1 worth of goods to Qatar, primarily in meat, ironworks, and minerals.
