S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 In a ceremony held on Wednesday (19) in Bras\u00edlia to celebrate the 64th<\/sup> National Day of Kuwait, the ambassador of the Gulf country, Talal Rashed Almansour, said Kuwait aims to expand economic and trade cooperation with Brazil, a country with which it has maintained bilateral relations for 57 years. Also celebrating these ties with the Latin American giant, he mentioned opportunities for investment in Brazil\u2019s renewable energy, infrastructure, and food security.<\/p>\n\n\n

According to information released by the embassy\u2019s press office, Almansour\u2019s statements were made on Wednesday morning at a meeting that gathered representatives from the Brazilian government and Congress, as well as heads of diplomatic missions in Bras\u00edlia, and the Vice President of International Relations & Secretary-General of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce<\/strong> (ABCC<\/a>) Mohamad Mourad. This date also marks the 34th<\/sup> Liberation Day of Kuwait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an example of the increased trade between the two countries, Almansour mentioned the rise in trade volume in 2024, which was double that of 2023, reaching USD 985.09 million. Brazil exported USD 404.7 million and imported USD 580.4 million, resulting in a trade surplus of USD 175.5 million for Kuwait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his speech, Almansour emphasized Kuwait\u2019s efforts to maintain a balanced foreign policy that represents the principles of the United Nations and fosters international cooperation. He also took the opportunity to wish Brazil success in its current presidency of the BRICS, a group formed by Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran, Ethiopia, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates. He further wished the country \u201csuccess\u201d in hosting the COP30 U.N. climate summit, which will take place in November in Bel\u00e9m, Par\u00e1 state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
