S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 This month Royal Air Maroc<\/a> is organizing two trips with travel agents from Spain and Portugal to promote the airline\u2019s flights between Casablanca and S\u00e3o Paulo and to present Brazil as a tourist destination to European operators. The fam tours, or familiarization trips, are part of the International Tourism Acceleration Program (PATI), a project created by the Brazilian Tourist Board (Embratur<\/a>) to promote the country abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to information from Embratur, ten tour operators from Spain have been in S\u00e3o Paulo since March 17 and will stay until the 23rd. The following day, Portuguese travel agents will arrive, with their stay scheduled until March 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During their visit to the state of S\u00e3o Paulo, the European tour operators will explore the capital city and S\u00e3o Sebasti\u00e3o, on the northern coast. They will dine at restaurants specializing in Brazilian cuisine, visit the Football Museum and the Guarani indigenous village of Rio Silveira, explore islands along the S\u00e3o Paulo coast, and attend lectures presenting tourist destinations, business opportunities, and local culture. As part of this program, a group of journalists from France will be in S\u00e3o Paulo in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Royal Air Maroc operates three weekly flights from Casablanca to S\u00e3o Paulo and three return flights from S\u00e3o Paulo to Casablanca. The direct route was reinstated last December after a five-year interruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The route between the Moroccan capital and S\u00e3o Paulo is also used by the airline to connect passengers to Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Embratur\u2019s statement, the institution\u2019s president, Marcelo Freixo, was quoted as saying that the project brings in people who \u201csell Brazil\u201d in tourist-sending countries so they can experience the country firsthand and then present it to foreign clients with more knowledge and detail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Freixo said the PATI program helps bring more visitors to the country, generating investments, jobs, and income. The program was launched last year. Through it, airlines and airports receive incentives to launch and attract international flights to Brazil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The regional manager of Royal Air Maroc in Brazil, Othman Baba, said new marketing actions are being planned with Embratur. He mentioned that the Casablanca\u2013S\u00e3o Paulo route already has an average occupancy rate of 80% on flights. \u201cThis success encourages us to double the traffic to and from Brazil, which led our company to sign a global agreement with Embratur and include marketing actions for the Brazilian market within the PATI program,\u201d he said, according to Embratur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Embratur statement, more Moroccans are traveling to Brazil as a result of the resumption of the flight between the two countries. In 2024, 4,854 tourists from Morocco entered Brazil. In January and February alone, 1,200 Moroccans arrived, marking a 42.9% increase compared to the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
