S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The Brazilian government will allocate BRL 11.2 billion, equivalent to USD 1.9 billion at the current exchange rate, to projects aimed at protecting the population from the effects of the climate emergency in the country. The amount was approved last week by the Managing Committee of the National Fund on Climate Change, known as Brazil\u2019s Climate Fund, as part of the 2025 Annual Resource Allocation Plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Linked to the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change<\/a>, the Climate Fund provides resources in two modalities: reimbursable and non-reimbursable. The reimbursable funds are managed by the Brazilian development bank BNDES, which offers financing using the available amount. The non-reimbursable funds are managed by the ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Of the total current budget, BRL 4.46 billion (USD 760 million) will be managed by the ministry.
