S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 This Tuesday (2nd) at the headquarters of the Federation of Industries of the State of Santa Catarina (Fiesc), the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce <\/b>and the Brazilian Export Promotion Agency (Apex, in the Portuguese acronym) will promote a seminar on construction industry opportunities in the United Arab Emirates and on the leading event for the industry in the Middle East, the Big 5 fair, due in Dubai from November 21st to 24th. <\/p>\n
The seminar will be broadcast, via teleconference, to the Brazilian Network of International Business Centres (CIN) across the country. The CIN Network is coordinated by the National Confederation of Industries (CNI) and the Apex, and works for the internationalization of Brazilian enterprises. As previously announced by ANBA, the Fiesc will send a mission to Dubai during the fair, comprising roughly 30 representatives, to participate in the event and pay visits to important construction sites in the emirate.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will discuss the growth of the construction industry in the Emirates, the country\u2019s economy and the mission schedule,\u201d says Michel Alaby, CEO of the Arab Brazilian Chamber. According to figures supplied by consulting firm Ventures Middle East, between December 2010 and January this year alone, 27 major construction projects were announced in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries (GCC, a group that comprises Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman), at a combined total of US$ 2.078 billion.<\/p>\n
Alaby also explains that the mission group has been invited to attend the Emirates Exporters Forum, an event due in Dubai on November 23rd. \u201cThis forum is the possibility for businessmen to do networking, because those who export import as well,\u201d claims the CEO, referring in particular to the profile of Arab entrepreneurs. \u201cAt the opening of the event, we will have a chance to talk about trade opportunities with Brazil,\u201d he finishes off. Regarding the Emirates\u2019 building market, Alaby says: \u201cIt keeps on expanding. Some of the works that were halted due to the crisis of 2008 and 2009 have now been resumed. There is also a strong demand for materials.\u201d <\/p>\n
Regarding the broadcast of the seminar to different states of Brazil, Alaby claims that there are several construction items that these different units of the federation may take to the Big 5. \u201cEngineering, consultancy and architecture firms may also participate,\u201d he explains.<\/p>\n
On Thursday (4th), it will be time for S\u00e3o Paulo-based companies to learn more about the fair and the construction market in the Emirates, as a seminar about the event will be held in the city. Companies interested in attending, in Santa Catarina or S\u00e3o Paulo, may still contact the Arab Brazilian Chamber to enrol. <\/p>\n
