In the period, exports totalled US$ 5.836 billion and imports, US$ 4.782 billion.<\/p>\n<p> According to the ministry, the daily average of Brazilian exports this month totalled US$ 1.167 billion, growth of 33.5% over the same period in 2010, when the daily average of exports totalled US$ 874.4 million. In comparison with last month, the growth of exports in the period was 10.2%. In July, daily sales abroad totalled US$ 1.052 billion.<\/p>\n<p> Global trade (imports and exports) in the first week of the month totalled US$ 10.618 billion, with daily average of US$ 2.123 billion, 29.5% greater than in August last year and 7.8% greater than in July.<\/p>\n<p> In the accumulated result for the year, the trade balance is also favourable to Brazil: from January to the first week of this month, Brazil exported US$ 146.391 billion, with a daily average of US$ 975.9 million. In the same period, the country imported US$ 129.251 billion, a daily average of US$ 861.7 million. The country surplus up to the moment is US$ 17.140 billion. In the same period last year, the surplus was US$ 10.169 billion.
