The result comes after the US$ 1.42 billion surplus recorded in the first week of the month, the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade informed this Monday (15th).<\/p>\n<p> In the second week of August, exports reached US$ 5.378 billion, at a daily average of US$ 1.075 billion, and imports reached US$ 5.012 billion (daily average of US$ 1.002 billion).<\/p>\n<p> In the two weeks so far this month, the trade surplus (exports exceeding imports) reached US$ 1.420 billion, as a result of US$ 11.214 billion in exports and US$ 9.794 billion in imports.<\/p>\n<p> From January until the second week of August, the trade surplus reached US$ 17.506 billion, as against US$ 10.596 billion during the same period of 2010. Exports reached US$ 151.769 billion, at a daily average of US$ 979.2 million.
