S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Private sector projects focused on tackling climate change can be submitted to an award organized by industry group CNI as part of Sustainable Business COP30 (SB COP). SB COP is a business participation platform at the U.N. COP30 climate summit, which will take place in Bel\u00e9m, Brazil, in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The award has an open public call until July 18<\/a> and will select concrete solutions to address global warming. The goal is to recognize innovative and scalable cases that deliver real results aligned with the Paris Agreement\u2014an international treaty aimed at limiting global warming to below 2\u202f\u00b0C, with efforts to keep it under 1.5\u202f\u00b0C compared to pre-industrial levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Companies, institutions, and private organizations can apply. Projects must fit into one of the thematic areas established by the award, which are: Energy Transition, Circular Economy and Materials, Bioeconomy, Food Systems, Nature-Based Solutions, Sustainable and Resilient Cities, Finance and Investment for the Transition, and Green Jobs and Skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The cases will be evaluated based on impact scale, feasibility within five years, economic return or affordability, innovation, and alignment with SB COP\u2019s strategic priorities.
