S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The reasons for the revolutions in the Arab world, its economic consequences and the repercussion of these events in Brazil are among the topics of talk \u201cWill Democracy Come?\u201d, to be granted by the dean of the Council of Arab Ambassadors to Bras\u00edlia, Ramez Goussous, at Armando \u00c1lvares Penteado Foundation (Faap), in S\u00e3o Paulo, on September 19, at 7:30 pm.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am going to speak about the Arab Spring, about the peace process in the region and about its economic challenges,\u201d said Goussous, who is the ambassador of Jordan to Brazil. \u201cReforms have been taking place for a long time and are now speeding up,\u201d he pointed out.<\/p>\n
The talk should also cover the consequences of the lack of strong public institutions, strong public institutions, the possibility of expansion of the revolutions to other Arab countries and Islamic radicalism as a threat to the West.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want to show the importance of peace in the region to the economy, as it is always affected by the political climate,\u201d pointed out the ambassador. \u201cPeople want reforms, greater participation of the people, and that is what is taking place in Egypt and Tunisia,\u201d he finished off.<\/p>\n
The event is turned to the International Relations and Economics students at the institution, but it is also open to the public. People not connected to Faap must contact the college to have access to the event.<\/p>\n
