Barbalho said hosting COP30 in the capital of Par\u00e1 offers the world an opportunity to immerse itself in the Amazon and understand the region\u2019s environmental, climate, and social challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The governor also emphasized the importance of strengthening ties with Gulf countries to finance projects in the Amazon. \u201cWe face the challenge of collectively building the energy transition process and are aware of the challenges in reducing emissions. Representing the GCC Ambassadors Council, Kuwait\u2019s ambassador to Brazil, Talal Rashed Almansour, said \u201cthe expectation is that COP30 will be an opportunity to surpass previous COPs. This is my first visit to Par\u00e1, but I\u2019ve often seen photos of Bel\u00e9m\u2019s preparations for COP. Overall, I believe COP30 will be a success. We appreciate the efforts of the federal, state, and municipal governments to ensure the event succeeds and exceeds all expectations,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Ag\u00eancia Par\u00e1, the GCC diplomats\u2019 delegation included, in addition to AlDah from the UAE and Almansour from Kuwait, Bahrain\u2019s ambassador to Brazil, Bader Abbas Hasan Ahmed Alhelaibi; Oman\u2019s ambassador, Abdulghaffar Al Bulushi; Qatar\u2019s ambassador, Ahmad Mohammed Ali Mohamed Alshebani; and the First Secretary of the Saudi Arabian Embassy, Meshal Alshalan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to ministry, the delegation also visited key hotels, tourist and cultural sites such as the Esta\u00e7\u00e3o das Docas, and took a boat tour along the city\u2019s waterfront, among other activities that allowed them to explore the infrastructure and engage with local authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
