The meeting will include the project\u2019s associate researchers and curators, Allan Yzumizawa and Alex Tso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hirano began an artist residency in the first semester at Kaaysa Art Residency at Boi\u00e7ucanga beach in S\u00e3o Sebasti\u00e3o, on the coast of S\u00e3o Paulo state. In a conversation with ANBA in May, she revealed that she intended to explore how diasporas, especially Asian ones, have adapted to the tropics, particularly in Brazil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement, Di\u00e1spora Gallery says that the research is based on the concept of Orientalism, formulated by the Palestinian literary critic Edward Said (1935\u20132003), and \u201cits reconfigurations in the Brazilian context.\u201d During the presentation, Hirano will share some results from the ongoing investigation. The researcher has previously lived in India, Italy, and Egypt, where she studied and engaged with the art scene, including the <em>Something Else<\/em> exhibition in 2023 in Cairo, which she co-curated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More information <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/diasporagaleria\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.
