The exhibition will open on Thursday (18) at the Guimar\u00e3es Rosa Institute in Beirut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also known as the \u201cTripoli International Fair,\u201d the exhibition pavilion was built in the Lebanese coastal city located 81 kilometers north of Beirut. It was designed in 1962 by Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer and completed in 1975.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It features geometric shapes and curves that are characteristic of Niemeyer\u2019s work, such as the main boomerang-shaped building used for exhibitions. The architectural complex was recognized in 2023 as a UNESCO World Heritage site, representing Lebanese aspirations and cultural ties with Brazil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the exhibition press release, the forms of \u201craw concrete\u201d in this architectural landmark are interpreted in the images as symbols of female strength, transformation, and resilience, while exploring themes such as architecture, identity, and memory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lebanese photographer Nadine Ashkar offers courses in schools and at her studio, in addition to participating in exhibitions and having shot editorial work with celebrities.
