The partnership was formalized during the 47<sup>th<\/sup> Global Privacy Assembly (GPA), held from September 15 to 19 in Seoul, South Korea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement was signed by Brazil\u2019s National Data Protection Authority (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.br\/anpd\/pt-br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ANPD<\/a>) and the Dubai International Financial Centre Authority (DIFC), according to a publication by ANPD on Tuesday (16). The Brazilian institution was represented by its CEO, Waldemar Gon\u00e7alves, and the UAE\u2019s by Vice President Lori Baker. The DIFC is responsible for data protection in the UAE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to ANPD, the document does not create legal obligations, and its implementation depends on the discretion of both parties. However, the memorandum of understanding establishes the basis for joint actions, such as the exchange of information on investigations, conducting joint inspections, and providing mutual technical support.
