S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 After more than 15 years of partnerships and joint activities, institutions from Morocco and Brazil\u2019s northeastern state of Cear\u00e1 signed last week a scientific and academic agreement aimed at expanding cooperation in science and education. The participants include Brazilian and Moroccan researchers from the Federal University of Cear\u00e1 (UFC), the Cear\u00e1 Foundation for Meteorology and Water Resources (FUNCEME), and the Hassan II Agronomic and Veterinary Medicine Institute, based in Rabat, Morocco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to information released by FUNCEME and UFC, the signed agreement provides for increased cooperation in strategic areas for the institutions, such as water management, sustainable food systems, climate resilience, and regional development, as well as the exchange of researchers, students, and engineers. It also encourages hosting professionals at each partner institution, recognition of degrees, and supervision of research aimed at high-level scientific training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The agreement was signed during the 3rd<\/sup> International Conference on Climate and Development in Arid, Semi-Arid, and Dry Sub-Humid Regions (ICID III), held at the Cear\u00e1 Events Center in state capital Fortaleza from September 15 to 19. The UFC signed the document through its Strategic Center of Excellence in Water and Drought Policies (CEPAS).
