S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 There are still seats available for those interested in participating in talk "Islamic Law and International Law\u201d to be given by lawyers Rabih Nasser and Salem Nasser next Wednesday (26) at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce<\/b>. The specialists should address the characteristics of trade and promotion of contracts with the Arab countries, in which religion influences the legal system.<\/p>\n
According to the CEO at the Arab Brazilian Chamber, Michel Alaby, the objective of the event is to guide companies regarding the characteristics of the Arab nations. \u201cWe want to provide a glimpse into the differences, care [necessary], how to tackle the aspects [of negotiation] without going against Islamic law,\u201d said Alaby. According to the CEO, companies planning to do business with the Arab countries generally hire specialized lawyers. \u201cBut it is important for these companies to have an idea of what they can or cannot do,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Salem and Rabih are cousins, professors at the Get\u00falio Vargas Foundation (FGV) Law School and partners in a law firm that operates in the areas of international law, foreign trade and investment, business consultancy and arbitration. Salem is also a member of the Islamic Law and International Law Committee of the International Law Association, headquartered in London, England.<\/p>\n
The interference of religion in the promotion of contracts and in negotiations varies according to the country in which the business is planned. This influence, however, may affect the financing of foreign trade operations and payment conditions. Occasionally, it is necessary to modify contracts and even products.<\/p>\n
The specialists will guide those present at the event regarding the safety contracts offer and how obligations that are not complied with by the parties involved are dealt with.<\/p>\n
