Kuwait City \u2013 The oil company Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) announced on Monday (13) the discovery of a new natural gas field, with estimates indicating the presence of one trillion cubic feet of gas. The offshore discovery was described by the company as \u201cmajor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kuwait Oil Company is a subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), the Gulf country\u2019s state-owned oil company. The company estimated the field\u2019s size at 40 square kilometers and said that initial results showed a production exceeding 29 million cubic feet of gas per day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kuwait is rich in oil and has been working to step up its gas production. Minister of Oil and KPC Chairman Tariq Suleiman Al-Roumi described the discovery as \u201ca strategic step\u201d aligned with national goals to ensure energy security and increase production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEfforts are currently underway to accelerate the development of the offshore fields discovered and integrate them into the production system, contributing to economic growth and creating new job opportunities for national talent,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
