S\u00e3o Paulo- The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce <\/b>will promote the workshop \u201cBusiness Opportunities with the Arab Countries\u201d from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on November 22nd. Admittance is free and enrolments are open.<\/p>\n
The event will be presented by the Arab Brazilian Chamber\u2019s Business and Markets manager, Rodrigo Solano. \u201cWe will provide an overview of the Arab market\u2019s size, its importance to Brazilian enterprises, and existing opportunities,\u201d he says. \u201cIn 2011, Arab imports will likely exceed US$ 680 billion, of which food will account for US$ 65 billion and building material will account for US$ 30 billion,\u201d says the executive.<\/p>\n
The way Brazilian enterprises should go about negotiating with the Arabs will also be dealt with at the workshop. \u201cThe Arab cultural reality is altogether different, and that has to be taken into consideration,\u201d says the executive. According to Solano, promising sectors for Brazil in the Arab world include construction, foodstuffs, fashion, healthcare, and beauty. \u201cIt is worth noting that capital goods are the leading category of products imported by the Arabs in absolute terms,\u201d he says. <\/p>\n
The influence of religion will also be addressed at the event. \u201cWe will discuss certain idiosyncrasies of consumer behaviour in Islam,\u201d he says. \u201cWe will show how religion impacts on society, behaviour, cultural identity, and law. Grasping this is vital for success in business,\u201d Solano asserts.<\/p>\n
Up until September this year, Brazilian exports to the Arab world stood at US$ 11 billion, 25% more than in the same period of 2010. The leading products shipped to the region were sugar, meats, and iron ore.<\/p>\n
