S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 This month, a Lebanese university will promote for its students an event about Latin America. The meeting should take place at Saint-Esprit de Kaslik University (Usek), from November 24th to 29th, and the theme should be \u201cLatin America in the Middle East: from intensification of relations to reaction in regional conflicts\u201d. <\/p>\n
The speaker will be \u00c9lodie Brun, a researcher of France\u2019s Political Science Centre for International Studies and Research (Ceri) and of the Network for Interdisciplinary Research on the Arab World and Latin America (Rimaal). She is also the author of book "Les relations entre l’Amerique du Sud et le Moyen-Orient; un exemple de relance sud-sud\u201d (Relations between South America and the Middle East \u2013 An example of South-South Rebirth), published by L’Harmattan.<\/p>\n
Promotion is by the Centre for Studies and Latina American Culture (Cecal) and by the Higher Institute of Political and Administrative Science (Isspa) at Usek. "This talk aims to develop knowledge of Latin America in the Middle East and of relations between both regions, within the Cecal objective, which is to establish a multidisciplinary centre and create exchange to be a platform for cooperation between both regions,\u201d said the general director of the Cecal-Usek, Roberto Khatlab.<\/p>\n
At the meeting, which the Cecal calls course, the main participants will be Political Science students, as well as journalists and Latin American diplomats in Lebanon. The talk should take place in the meeting room of the Usek Campus Central Library, from 11:00 to 12:15 of the days scheduled.<\/p>\n
