Compared to the same month last year, financial activity in the sector increased by 3.4%, boosted by initiatives carried out by the Jordanian government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ministry\u2019s report lists measures taken in the country in October to boost tourist attraction, including the participation of around 25,000 people in \u201cUrdunna Jannah,\u201d a program that strengthens domestic tourism by supporting the service sector, and the agreement with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority to regulate tourism-related professions and activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Qatraneh Castle was added to a local tourism route, and school trips were launched to the historic city of Petra, in addition to joint campaigns for cleaning and raising awareness about tourist sites.
