S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The Big 5, a construction industry fair held from November 21 to 24 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, was attended by 49,000 people, 6% more than in the 2010 edition, according to figures issued this Thursday (8th) by DMG Events, the company in charge of organizing the trade show.<\/p>\n
The number of visitors increased by a higher rate than the 3% forecasted by the event\u2019s director, Andy White, in an interview to ANBA on the last day of the fair. On that occasion, he stressed that the increase, though only an estimate, represented a very significant performance in a fair of the kind.<\/p>\n
The 2011 edition of the Big 5 counted on 32 national pavilions, among them Brazil\u2019s, organized by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce<\/b> and the Brazilian Export Promotion Agency (Apex). The overall impression among participants, from Brazil and other countries, who were interviewed by ANBA during the event, was that this year\u2019s fair was indeed busier than the 2010 edition.<\/p>\n
Other shows were held parallel to the main fair: PMV Live, for machinery, Middle East Concrete, FM Expo, for services, and the Green Build Congress. Additionally, 130 free product seminars were given. In March 2012, the Big will have an edition in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for the second time.
