Lula also consulted Abbas on the region\u2019s reconstruction prospects and reiterated Brazil\u2019s commitment to peace in the Middle East.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conversation took place the same day U.S. President Donald Trump launched the \u201cPeace Council,\u201d a group of invited countries to oversee actions in the Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lula was invited by Trump but has not yet decided whether to join the council.
