In total, 3.56 million visitors, including foreigners and Syrian expatriates, traveled to Syria.

Speaking to state news agency SANA, Tourism Minister Mazen Al-Salihani attributed the growth to renewed regional and international interest in the country and its historical and cultural heritage. He said such interest is essential for attracting Arab and European investment in the sector, particularly in air transport and sustainable tourism.

Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, and Gulf countries were the main sources of tourists to Syria, which also saw an increase in visitors from Germany and Norway. Despite the growth, the total number of tourists in the country is still below the 8.5 million recorded in 2010, before the conflict that lasted until the end of 2024. Al-Salihani also noted that domestic tourism has expanded due to citizens’ confidence in safety conditions and service quality.

Read more:
Syria’s economy shows signs of recovery

Translated by Guilherme Miranda

©Adri Salido/Anadolu via AFP

Between January and November, 3.56 million foreign visitors and Syrian expatriates traveled to the Arab country, according to the Ministry of Tourism.

[101
55710,2781,14869,9611,9692,11228,1921
0":"post-402451","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-tourism","8":"tag-domestic-2","9":"tag-growth","10":"tag-siria-en-2","11":"tag-syria-en","12":"tag-tourism-en","13":"tag-turismo-ar","14":"tag-turkey
Between January and November, 3.56 million foreign visitors and Syrian expatriates traveled to the Arab country, according to the Ministry of Tourism.
["GET
