The ten best drawings in theme \u201cMy favourite chapter in the History of Brazil\u201d will be chosen and they will receive the &quot;Itamaraty Children\u2019s Drawing Award, Little Brazilians Worldwide\u201d. Enrolment is open this month, and should be up to May.<\/p>\n<p> <!--%IMGNOT1%-->Children aged six to 11 may participate. According to figures disclosed by the Itamaraty, the objective of the initiative is to \u201cpromote and conserve cultural and identity ties between the new generation of Brazilians abroad and their country of origin\u201d. Promotion is by the Foreign Ministry, through the Undersecretariat-General For Brazilian Communities Abroad. <\/p>\n<p> Focussed on history, in this edition, the pictures should show how the youth recalls or imagines episodes or even characters of Brazilian ancient, modern or contemporary history. Enrolment may be by e-mail, but drawings should later be delivered at the local Consulates or Embassies. <\/p>\n<p> Each competitor may only present one drawing, which may include several materials, like water colours, gouache and felt tips, among others, and also varied techniques like collage, use of fabric, etc. The organizers recommend material other than pencils. The work should be new.<\/p>\n<p> Judging and selection of the winners will be up to June 30. The judges will be personalities in the field of arts, professors and art critics. Apart from awarding the top ten works, ten special mentions will also be made. The winners will get kits of games, toys and children\u2019s books about Brazil and Brazilian literature. There will be a ceremony for delivery of the award wherever there is a winner.<\/p>\n<p> In the last edition, 438 drawings were analysed by children in 22 countries. Children in Arab countries like Oman, Lebanon and Palestine participated. The theme was &quot;My favourite Brazilian&quot; and the winner was a child in Germany.
