S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The embassy of Saudi Arabia to Brazil has informed the adoption of a new procedure for visa emission for Brazilians interested in visiting the country. The decision promises to simplify the life of those travelling regularly.<\/p>\n
According to a press statement by the diplomatic office, presidents, directors and members of the board of directors of companies no longer need an invitation from a company or organisation to obtain an entry visa. They also no longer need a letter of presentation from a Chamber of Commerce.<\/p>\n
Those interested and who fit the conditions above may request the document straight at the embassy. The cost is 1,000 Saudi rials, or US$ 267 at current exchange rates.<\/p>\n
The visa is valid for a year and may be used for several entries, avoiding the need to obtain a new document every time the businessman is going to travel.<\/p>\n
Saudi Arabia is Brazil\u2019s main export destination in the Middle East and North Africa. Sales to the region totalled US$ 3.48 billion last year, growth of 12.2% over 2010, according to figures disclosed by the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, complied by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce<\/b>.<\/p>\n
On the other lane, the country is Brazil\u2019s second main supplier in the region, losing only to Algeria. In 2011, imports of Saudi products totalled US$ 3.1 billion, growth of 50% over the previous year.<\/p>\n
