S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Professor and translator Safa Jubran will present the lecture \u201cOn Translation: The Encounter Between Arabic and Portuguese\u201d this Saturday afternoon (11) in S\u00e3o Paulo. Safa Jubran was born in Lebanon and has lived in S\u00e3o Paulo since 1982. She is a professor of Arabic language at the University of S\u00e3o Paulo (USP). She has translated into Portuguese, among other works, Miramar<\/em> by Naguib Mahfuz and Season of Migration to the North<\/em> by Tayeb Salih. From Portuguese into Arabic, she has translated, among other works, The Brothers: A novel<\/em> by Milton Hatoum.
