The operation is part of the implementation of a program that provides for the import of 10,000 new buses to renew the country\u2019s passenger transport fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first batch was delivered in Rouiba, in Algiers Province, by the Company for the Modernization and Manufacture of Vehicles of the 2nd Military Region, affiliated with the Defense Ministry\u2019s Directorate of Military Manufacturing. The buses were handed over to public transport operators Transtiv, which received 538 units, ETUSA Algiers, which took 320, and ETUSA Oran, which received 50.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The supplier of the vehicles was not disclosed, but images released show some buses bearing the brand of China\u2019s Higer Bus Company.
