S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The Lebanese-Brazilian Academy of Letters, Arts and Sciences will host on Friday (17) an international event focusing on Baalbek, the Lebanese archaeological site, in the current Middle East context. Lebanon has been bombed by Israeli forces amid the conflict involving the United States and Israel with Iran. The debate will take place in the city of Rio de Janeiro, but will also have a digital version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Titled \u201cBaalbek, World Heritage \u2013 culture and resistance in times of war,\u201d the meeting will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Cinema Auditorium of the Federal Justice Cultural Center, downtown. Baalbek is recognized as a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). To attend the event, it is necessary to confirm participation<\/a> by this Thursday (16).<\/p>\n\n\n\n The meeting will feature remote participation, from Beirut, by the president of the Baalbek International Festival, Nayla de Freige. Director and stage director Jorge Takla and historian Silvia Antibas, who is vice president of Marketing at the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Lebanese-Brazilian Academy of Letters, Arts and Sciences<\/a>, will join online from S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to the information released, the debate will also include in-person participation by the academy\u2019s vice president and event moderator, Katia Chalita, as well as members maestro Tim Rescala and journalist Ant\u00f4nio Carlos Miguel.
