According to information from the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and the National Agency for the Valorization of Hydrocarbon Resources (Alnaft), reported by the state news agency APS, the &#8220;Algeria Bid Round 2026&#8221; invites oil and gas companies to submit proposals to obtain exploration permits for these seven areas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fields slated for exploration include El Borma II and El M&#8217;Zaid Nord in Ouargla, Illizi Centre I and East Bordj Omar Driss I in Illizi, El Hadjira III in Touggourt, Touggourt Sud, and El Benoud Est in El Bayadh. These fields vary in size, reserves, and capacity, though their potential was already well-documented. For instance, the El Benoud Est field has an estimated reserve of 576 million barrels of oil, while the El M&#8217;Zaid Nord area is estimated at 100 million barrels. Alnaft President Samir Bekhti told the Asharq portal that the total production potential reaches 1.8 billion barrels.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>he bidding schedule dictates that technical phases will be open from June 1 to October 31, during which interested parties will have access to data and presentations. Final proposals must be submitted by November 26 of this year, and the signing of exploration contracts is expected to be conducted by the state-owned oil company Sonatrach by January 31, 2027.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The goal of this tender and the granting of exploration wells is to promote technology transfer, industry development, and to attract foreign investment to Algeria, which relies heavily on the commodity for its Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Hydrocarbons Minister Mohamed Arkab stated that the proposal will offer fiscal and contractual incentives to interested bidders.
