The discovery was made in ultra-deep waters within the BM-S-8 block, during the drilling of a well 232 kilometres off the coast of the state of S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n<p> Sampling tests proved that the oil is roughly 31 degrees API (a scale that measures density) and is therefore good quality.
