A total of 82,000 square meters, or about 8.2 hectares, were granted as part of efforts to boost food security and support farmers in the country, Bahrain’s state news agency BNA<\/a> reported<\/p>\n\n\n\n The initiative is part of a broader strategy aimed at expanding sustainable agricultural capacity, increasing local production, and improving efficiency in Bahrain\u2019s sector. Recently, the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture allocated another six plots, totaling 40,100 square meters, or about four hectares, to farmers in Hoorat A\u2019ali.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Each of the 12 farmers benefited received plots ranging from 6,000 to 8,000 square meters through a public tender on the Government Land Investment Platform. The initiative is aimed exclusively at Bahraini farmers, BNA reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Land-use contracts have a duration of ten years, with a one-year grace period for the installation of agricultural infrastructure. Farmers will receive technical and advisory support through specialized sector teams.
