Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) added several sites to the List of World Heritage in Danger on Friday (24), including a Lebanese castle occupied by Israel and an archaeological site in the occupied West Bank, Palestine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beaufort Castle, a fortress also known as Qalaat al-Shaqif, is one of five castles in the Jabal Amel region of southern Lebanon. The UN agency said the fortresses have sustained damage and remain under persistent threat.
