The result is the difference between hires during the month, which amounted to 1,798,101, and dismissals, which stood at 1,581,127.<\/p>\n<p> The figure represents a reduction of approximately 55,200 positions, or 20.3%, compared with April 2011. Still, according to the ministry, the result indicates a bullish trend in the country\u2019s economy, because in April, the labour market had its best performance so far this year. In March, for instance, 111,700 new positions were opened. In the first four months of 2012, 702,059 formal job positions were created.<\/p>\n<p> The services sector accounted for the most new formal positions, at 82,875, followed by civil construction (40,606), trade (33,704) and the processing industry (30,318).<\/p>\n<p> In Northeast Brazil, the number of positions decreased by 4.924.
