S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 During a visit to the headquarters of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce <\/strong>(ABCC) in S\u00e3o Paulo on Monday (24), Qatar Chamber committee chair Mohamed Bin Amed Al Obaidly told ABCC President William Adib Dib Jr. that the Gulf country wants to become a hub for companies, especially food producers, to manufacture and re-export goods. Obaidly and Qatar Chamber Public Relations Department Director Ahmed Abu Nahya visited the ABCC as part of their schedule out in Brazil over the coming days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qatar Chamber executives will meet with organizations representing Brazilian meat producers and exporters, government officials, and representatives of the S\u00e3o Paulo industry group Fiesp, and the S\u00e3o Paulo Commercial Association (ACSP). The meetings aim to attract Brazilian companies to operate in the country. At the ABCC Chamber, they were received by Dib, Institutional Relations Advisor Bassel Abou Latif, and Market Intelligence Manager Marcus Vinicius.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe want to become a major hub. That is why we have a schedule of meetings. We want to do business, not pay courtesy visits,\u201d Obaidly said. Qatar\u2019s interest is not only in ensuring food security but also in becoming a food exporter. This is why it is seeking investments in logistics, production and distribution. \u201cWe are not talking about government investment, but rather private-sector investment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the meeting, Vinicius presented data on bilateral trade, compiled by the institution based on data from Brazil\u2019s Ministry of Development, Industry, Foreign Trade and Services. In 2025, Brazil exported USD 373.4 million, down 17.4% from 2024, and imported USD 591.8 million, down 19.7% year on year. Brazil\u2019s main exports were beef and chicken, refined oil and iron ore. The main imports were nitrogen fertilizers, refined oil, sulfur and aluminum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
