S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNTWO) and the World Tourism and Travel Council (WTTC) are promoting the seminar \u201cSeizing tourism market opportunities in times of rapid change,\u201d on June 5th and 6th, in the Dead Sea, Jordan.<\/p>\n
During the two days of the event, there will be five panels, featuring representatives of tourism organizations based in Jordan and out of the country, such as WTTC president and CEO David Scowsill, UNTWO secretary general Taleb Rifai, the Jordanian Tourism Board managing director Abed Al Razzaq Arabiyat, among others.<\/p>\n
Representatives of international tourism companies will also be in attendance, such as the Emirates Airline senior vice president Frederic Bardin, the Royal Jordanian Airlines marketing director Anwar Atalla, and the president of luxury travel company Abercombie & Kent, Geoffrey Kent.<\/p>\n
Panel topics will include \u201cWhat is happening in the global economy,\u201d \u201cHow are consumers\u2019 needs evolving and how can they be reached,\u201d \u201cHow can growth expectations of the Aviation sector contribute,\u201d \u201cHow can destinations seize the opportunities afforded,\u201d \u201cWhat are the conditions for promoting successful foreign direct investments in times of uncertainty.\u201d<\/p>\n
The seminar will be held amidst celebrations of the 200th anniversary of the discovery of Petra, a Jordanian archaeological site that was been declared a World Heritage Site in 1985, by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco). The location is the country\u2019s leading tourism spot and one of the most famous in the world.<\/p>\n
